Carrefour’s Taiwanese MVNO was our first to offer both prepaid and contract options.

Taiwan places many regulatory hurdles in front of new entrants. (Both prepaid and post-paid require double ID-checks for any new subscriber.) So introducing post-paid in this arena and in Carrefour was a double challenge.

Our greatest achievement was in simplifying the activation process to the point where any hypermarket employee could sell a post-paid subscription without much training, meeting the strict regulations along the way.

With our ‘Pick Up & Pay’ starter packs, we educated the (largely post-paid) market about prepaid and enriched both payment options with retail-related features. For the first time, Taiwanese customers were able to trade loyalty points for airtime.

And, yes, like all our other MVNOs, this one runs on our Brussels platform, humming away quietly halfway around the world.
