We provide a full suite of customer care tools and interfaces, as well as self-care through the web and at the point of sale. Since most new customers of an MVNO already have a phone, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is essential. Although the interaction with other operators is managed by the host network, our interfaces with the MNO support all types of MNP processes.

Tariff changes are simple and it’s no problem to switch customers from prepaid to postpaid, or vice versa. They can also perform many actions themselves directly through the handset. For easy mediation, we import all Call Detail Records (CDRs) in bulk for offline billing and reconciliation, in case the MNO does not support ‘real-time control’.

The Effortel Technologies platform is simultaneously integrated with 5 mobile operators: KPN in Belgium, Vodafone in Italy, Polkomtel in Poland, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan and Nawras in Oman. After all these deployments, it’s fair to say we can handle every aspect of mobile network integration. Such know-how allows us to commit to fast integration and launch lead times for MVNO customers—around six months—in any country of the world.

The diagram below shows how we integrate with Core Network infrastructure.

We use redundant optical links to connect to mobile networks across the globe. The platform in Brussels performs call control functions over SS7 signaling. All subscriber accounts, balances, data, call records are held and managed on the platform in Brussels. Only IVR and Voicemail systems are installed locally to avoid high-bandwidth voice traffic between the platform in Belgium and MVNOs in other countries.

Effortel Technologies is also vendor agnostic. Our MVNO track record proves that the platform can be integrated with a network from any major vendor. To date, we’ve integrated with networks built on elements from Nokia Siemens, Ericsson, Motorola, Huawei and others.

Integration with an MNO network is just the first step. Plenty of external systems require integration, many of which were not designed to work with telecom platforms. Typical examples include distribution systems, cashier systems, and CRM systems, as well as connections to payment service providers, banks, bill printers and web services. Effortel is able to handle even legacy systems that other integrators would insist were upgraded at great cost.

Some of our clients prefer to manage elements of the set-up phase with their own people. To help things go smoothly, we offer full hands-on practical training at our offices in Brussels to teach all the tips and tricks related to manning the platform from a technical point of view.
